OREANDA-NEWS. January 24, 2011. A constituent meeting to form a new Public Council by the State committee for financial monitoring of Ukraine has been held.

The aim of that event was to ensure the participation of the public in realization of state policy in the sphere of preventing money-laundering or terrorism financing.

The constituent meeting has been held in accordance with the Order of holding the constituent meeting to elect a Public Council, approved by the initiative group to prepare constituent meetings and according to the demands of the Cabinet of Ministers resolution of 03.11.2010 No. 996 "On ensuring the participation od the public in forming and realizing of the state policy".

31 public institutions that unite almost 1,5 thousand legal persons and over 9 thousand physical persons that represent practically all categories of financial sector took part at the event.

The result of the meeting held was formation of a new Public Council, election of its Head,  Deputies and a Secretary as well as definition of the tasks of the Council.
