OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2011. National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Activities has been named the best bank of the year 2010 on attracting deposits from the population.  

Ceremony of awarding the winners of a competition organized in line with the Resolution of the President "On contest among commercial banks on attraction of deposits from the population" dated 31 October 2008 was held in Tashkent on 16 January.  

31 commercial banks, 810 subdivisions and 4,000 minibanks participated this year in eight main and 11 additional nominations. The organizing committee considered the banks' indexes on attraction of fixed time and saving deposits of the population as well as scales and contents of promotion the company among clients.  

The winners were awarded during the formal ceremony with participation of the Committee for Budgeting and Economic reforms under Senate of Oliy Majlis, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, Fund for Guaranteeing Citizens' Deposits and commercial banks of Uzbekistan, etc.
