OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2011. In 2010 Atomenergoproekt OJSC (Moscow) fulfilled the plan of measures aimed at implementation of the VVER-TOI project.

On March 1, 2010 Moscow design and engineering branch — VVER Design Centre was established on the basis of Atomenergoproekt OJSC as a separate subdivision of the company. Its main objective was development of a standard project of a high power NPP unit on the basis of the VVER technology (VVER-TOI standard project), which would make it possible to reduce the costs associated with design, construction, operation, service and decommissioning of VVER power units.

In 2010 VVER Design Centre completely implemented the plan of measures of VVER-TOI “project map”. In particular, it developed the concept-project of the power unit, on the basis of which the detailed technical assignment for development of the basic VVER-TOI project was prepared. According to the concept-project 3D models of the reactor building, auxiliary reactor building, fresh fuel storage facility and turbine building were created.

During the year a variety of works at creation of information platform for the VVER-TOI project were fulfilled. In particular, the software for creation of the 3D power unit information model was configured, the basic principles of its operation were described, the user manual prepared and the standards for execution of documentation based in the information model developed. In 2010 the specialists of the Centre created the top-priority project directories of materials and constituents, that is for the database of 3D models of the standard equipment and its features.

In accordance with the “project map” the works at creation of the unit information model; project management systems, the unit construction and supplies are to be carried out at the Centre in 2011. Besides, the specialists will create the common information space of the VVER-TOI project (the common Web portal for communication among the branch enterprises and organizations taking part in the project implementation).

The distinguishing feature of the VEER-TOI project being the continuation of the NPP-2006 main project consists in the fact that from the very beginning it is implemented in the information environment. Its implementation provides for optimization of the basic technical and economic characteristics which will significantly improve the competitive ability of the Russian developments at the external market and the process of NPP construction in Russia.

The VVER-TOI project is developed by companies and organizations of Rosatom State Corporation: Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC design branch, Atomenergoproekt OJSC, VNIIAES OJSC, OKB Gidropress as well as RRC Kurchatov Institute.
