OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2011. Erection of the Curling Center metal frame (capacity 3,000) has been started in the Olympic Park. The second stage will involve the assembly of metalwork of tribunes and floor structures. The total weight of the Curling Center structures is 1,148 tons.
The Curling Center is a 30 x 60 m four-storey building. The lower level accommodates one rink with four curling sheets. Located along the Center perimeter will be teams’ locker rooms and servicer spaces for athletes, referees, press people and competition organizers. The second floor will accommodate a viewer zone, tribune entrances, VIP box, Presidential Box and the Olympic Family Zone. The vertical link will be provided by four stairways and three elevators.
