Poverty Rate in Azerbaijan Fell up to 9.1%
OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2011. Today in Baku Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on discussing the results of the country’s social-economic development in 2010.
At the meeting I. Aliyev stated that following 2010 the population’s nominal incomes have increased by 12.3%, and poverty rate fell by 9.1%.
"In 2010 more than 70.000 new work places were opened in Azerbaijan, 53.000 of which are permanent ones. On the whole 900.000 new work places have been opened in the republic since October of 2003",- I. Aliyev said.
By estimations of the Head of the State all social programs were accomplished in 2010, there were active investments in infrastructure improvement, including transport one.
Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev, Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfaz Garayev,Youth and Sport Minister Azad Rahimov and CEO of Central Bank Elman Rustamov also spoke at the meeting.
