OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2011. Uralmashplant undertakes to supply technological complex of induration machine No 3 - the largest pelletizing unit in Russia to be built at Mikhailovsk ore-dressing and processing complex. The project of Uralmashplant implies basic and packaged approach to manufacturing and delivery of metallurgical-industry equipment and includes development of pelletizing methods, execution of project works, delivery of equipment, commissioning of the plant and obtaining project parameters. Furthermore, Uralmashplant is in charge of operations with electric drives and industrial control systems.

Total weight of the delivery is around 17 thousand tons. Uralmashplant itself manufactures induration machine MOK-1-592 (with effective area of 592 m2), balling drums, modified screen of improved productivity and ball mill. The plant commissioning is scheduled for the beginning of 2013.

The new enterprise is planned to manufacture 5 million tons of pellets a year for blast-furnace production. Performance characteristics of the machine including productivity, pellet quality, specific consumption of natural gas and electric power are adequate to the world level.

Oleg Danchenko, MK Uralmash general director, says: Delivery contract for pelletizing-plant equipment at Mikhailovsk ore-dressing and processing complex is of a great significance for Uralmashplant. This shall be the largest pelletizing enterprise in Russia which features fifth-generation sintering machine - effective, up-to-date and with minimum effect to environment.

Mr. Danchnko emphasizes - "Contract execution shall provide us with new references at the market of pelletizing equipment".

At present, Mikhailovsk ore-dressing and processing complex is equipped with two induration machines ОК-520 produced by Uralmashplant and put into operation in 1977.

MK Uralmash is the only Russian designer and supplier of conveyor-type induration machines. Uralmashplant has manufactured induration machines with work areas of 108, 306 and 520 m2 and accessory process equipment intended for various methods. Uralmash induration machines are used for production of pellets from iron-ore and nickel concentrates, chromitites and phosphorites, as well as for cement-clinker production and waste-free processing of bituminous shale and in other induration-related processes.

Starting from 1964 fifty complexes with Uralmashplant induration machines have been developed and put into operation.
