Medication Prices Drop in Moldova Starting from 1 January 2011
OREANDA-NEWS. January 13, 2011. Prime Minister Vlad Filat today chaired a working meeting on the regulation of the Moldovan pharmaceutical goods' market, the government's communications and press relations department has said.
Attending the meeting were decision makers from the Health Ministry, the Agency of Medicine, the Centre for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption and the State Chancellery.
The officials discussed the new rules of forming medication prices, which entered into force on 1 January 2011, their observance and impact.
Health Minister Vladimir Hotineanu said that, starting from 1 January 2011, the prices for a number of medicines decreased. He noted that presently, the ministry works to include all the names of medicines that are imported in

Vlad Filat asked for maximum responsibility to implement the new regulations, so that the Moldovan citizens feel the decrease in medication prices.
"I demand to be presented a comprehensive report on the new medication prices till the end of this week. I am waiting for results, and this means quality and reasonable prices," the prime minister said.
Vlad Filat asked competent people to more efficiently communicate with operators from the medication market. The prime minister stressed the need to open a hot line, so that people report any abuse in terms of prices.
