OREANDA-NEWS. January 13, 2011. In the result of questionnaires and monitoring by “ECO – 2010” Coalition, DemirBank was deserved of the national award “Friend of ecology”.

“Eco – 2010” coalition was founded in May 2010, for purposes of promotion ecological projects and public enlightening. In the result of questionnaires and monitoring by “ECO – 2010” Coalition, some companies and people were deserved  of “Friend of ecology” diplomas on December 23th, 2010 which took place in “Excelsior Hotel” Azerbaijan.

“Accordingly its Social Responsibility Strategy, DemirBank always takes into consideration protecting the nature and environment. DemirBank obeys to ecological rules and finances the fields that have no ecological risks. DemirBank participated in the planting of greenery and other ecological campaigns in 2010 that was named as “Ecology Year”. As result, DemirBank was deserved of the national award “Friend of ecology” - stated the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of DemirBank Mr. Yusif Jabbarov.

One of the first banks in the country DemirBank (the former name Azerdemiryolbank) started operating in 1989. Shareholders of the Bank include large international financial organizations such as European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Holland Financial Company for Development (FMO).
