Raiffeisenbank Engages CROC to Upgrade Its Telecommunications Network
OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2011. Raiffeisenbank dramatically reduced monthly expenses and accelerated its applications by engaging CROC to upgrade its telecommunications network and create a traffic optimization system.
“The project delivered real value to the bank: Forty percent traffic compression allowed for a significant acceleration in centralized applications, and a 25 percent reduction in payments to service providers,” said Sergey Enyutin, Director of IT Department, ZAO Raiffeisenbank.
“Today, the success and popularity of banks largely depend on the rapid exchange of information between affiliates and the quality of communications with customers and partners. As a result, traffic optimization saves both time and money. This is why the majority of CROC's Cisco WAAS projects have been within the banking sector,” commented Natalia Dyakonova, Director of Telecommunications Department at CROC.
The project covered five regional branches of the bank and was completed in several stages. CROC's professionals first tested the system and estimated its cost effectiveness, then examined the bank's network infrastructure, designed the future system, upgraded the network, and finally implemented the optimization solution. In addition, follow-up analysis confirmed the efficiency of the solution.
“Traditionally, the WAAS solution is used by companies with multiple branches across the country and around the globe. Primarily, demand for such solutions comes from the banking sector, large retailers, and other companies with extensive subsidiary networks involved in complex production processes. However, recently service providers have shown growing interest in Cisco’s Wide Area Application Services and are seeking to optimize costs, improve performance of centralized applications, and develop new business models and services based on our solutions,” commented Oleg Koverznev, Area Sales Manager, Datacenter and Virtualization Market Segment, Cisco.
