OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2011. OJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih” put into operation the new residential house for its employees thus having fulfilled one of the key investment commitments according to the SPA of the enterprise. The enterprise invested 23.5 mln UAH in the construction of the modern nine-storied house at 2v, XXII Partsyezda street.

Rinat Starkov, CEO, OJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih”: "Construction of the new house at XXII Partsyezda street was launched over a year ago. This year was difficult for us due to the crisis aftermath and severe cash management issue. However we fulfilled our obligation and will open two residential houses on time and 81 families of employees of our company will welcome 2011 in the new apartments. We have always fulfilled and continue to fulfill the assumed obligations, including social ones, because taking care of our employees, their health, safety and quality of life is our priority".

The new house consists of 81 apartments: 38 one-roomed flats, 25 two-roomed flats and 18 three-roomed flats. Total floor area of the house is 3965 m2, including living area - 1488.9 m2. New occupants can use all the necessary infrastructure for a comfortable living: comfortable courtyard, children’s playground, parking place.

The procedure for providing employees with accommodation is in line with the conditions of the current Collective Agreement of the company. The distribution of apartments is based on the joint solution of management and the trade union committee of the enterprise in the ratio: public queue - 75%, in turn - 20%, out of turn - 5% (the person injured during an accident at work, widows, families with many children and families with disabled-children). 43 workers, 14 engineers and other technical workers and 18 retirees of OJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih” got apartments in the new house.

The general contractor for the design and construction works is PJSC “Kryvorizhindustroy”, subcontractors were also Kryviy Rih enterprises. As a result, over 300 new work places were created in the city.

OJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih” is one of the few Ukrainian companies and the only one in Kryviy Rih, which carries out a program of construction and the provision of free accommodation for its employees. The first 144 apartments of the house at Dnepropetrovsk highway were handed over to employees of the company in December 2007. The housing construction program as an important component of investment commitments of OJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih” provides putting into operation 450 apartments in 2010-2011. In 2010, 165 apartments will be delivered to employees: 81 apartments in the new building at XXII Partsyezda street and 84 apartments in the house at 8b, Zhemchuzhnaya Str., which will be put into operation till the end of this year.

Installation and construction works are being carried out at the microrayons Vostochniy 2, 3, where two new houses for 285 apartments for employees of OJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih” will be built in 2011.
