OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2011. In January, TEO LT, AB, the largest provider of integrated telecommunication, IT and TV services in Lithuania, installed two new digital terrestrial television (DVB-T) transmitters in Plunge and Kedainiai. The expanded network of transmitters will enable to improve the quality of Digital GALA TV services in these towns and surrounding areas.

From now on, there will be a total of 30 transmitters operating in Lithuania providing the possibility to watch up to 40 channels in Lithuanian, English, Russian and other languages in almost the whole country.

Also, TEO re-broadcasts three high-definition television (HDTV) channels in Vilnius, Kaunas and within the radius of approximately 50 kilometres around them. Eurosport HD, Discovery HD Showcase and National Geographic Channel HD are available in English and Russian - customers can choose their preferred language.

At the end of September 2010, the number of customers using the Digital GALA TV service, broadcasted via digital terrestrial television (DVB-T) networks throughout Lithuania, was more than 58 thousand. TEO also provides Interactive GALA digital television (IPTV) services to residential and business customers which at the end of September were used by more than 63 thousand customers.
