OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2011. CJSC "Crimea TITAN" has produced 100 000 tons of titanium dioxide.

An initial estimated output of titanium dioxide production was 80 000 MT/year. This record-breaking result was achieved thanks to our equity investor. OstChem Holding AG maintains company's growth by investing in reconstruction and modernization of production.

Hence the first stage of reconstruction of titanium dioxide production was completed and a record-breaking result achieved", - said Alexander Shitmanyuk the Chairman of the Board at the ceremony.

In the future CJSC "Crimea TITAN" will continue to modernize the production, putting into service a new sulphuric acid production work-shop as well as reconstructing "Titan-1" production work-shop.

Year 2004

"Titan-2" production work-shop:

- two additional reduction reactors with gas cleaning unit were built and put into service;

- black filtration site: three chamber filter presses, two automatic membrane filter presses and slime storage ponds were put into service.

- reconstruction of white filtration: replacement of drum vacuum filters with plate filters (Moore);

- calcining furnaces: two membrane filter presses were put into service in order to reduce gas consumption and increase production;

- afterfiltration: two automatic membrane filter presses were installed to reduce energy consumption and increase titanium dioxide production;

- drying section: two disaglomirated driers with inert support were installed in order to improve quality, increase production and reduce gas consumption;

- an automatic packing line was installed to reduce production losses;

- automatized sites: reduction, vacuum-crystallization, vacuum evaporation, hydrolysis, white filtration, wet grinding and classification;

"Titan-1" production work-shop:

- filtering centrifuge was put into service to improve the quality of the finished product and to

produce 50 000 MT;

- two vacuum crystallization units were put into service;

- white filtration: seven automatic membrane filter presses were put into service.

- an automatic packing line was installed to reduce production losses;

- automatized sites: reduction, vacuum-crystallization, vacuum evaporation, hydrolysis, white filtration;

A number of energy saving projects was implemented. A steam turbo generator with a capacity of 6 Mw and a new gas compression shop were put into service. DM water plant (reverse osmosis) was put into service to provide a sufficient amount of demineralized water for titanium dioxide production.

01.09.2008 - Construction of a new sulphuric acid production work-shop.

The reconstruction of titanium dioxide production has widened the TiO2 range and improved the quality of the finished product.
