OREANDA-NEWS. January 3, 2011. The Maisky Surface Mine of SUEK-Kuzbass Surface Mine Group marked one million tonne of coal shipped since the beginning of the year. The Maisky miners were first in the Surface Mine Group to meet the annual target.

It was the leading crew of Alexandr Yudin operating an EKG 5A excavator that loaded the amount of coal marking one million tonne. According to the Mine's tradition, festive lights were lit on a Christmas tree.

In 2010, the Maisky Mine celebrated its 10th year after the launch. During these years the facility has been showing stable performance and overachieving production targets. In 2009, the miners also met the annual targets in late November.

At present, the Mine's machinery fleet comprises six excavators, nine BelAZ dumpers, three bulldozers and one drilling rig. Recently, under the machinery upgrading programme the Maisky Mine fleet was augmented by EK-400 excavator, ZSBSh-200-60 drill, and B-10 bulldozer. Routine maintenance operations of the machinery and mechanisms are financed on a regular basis.

The stability of the Mine operations is secured not only by its technical facilities but also by smooth and professional work of the team and the Company's competent marketing policy. The core personnel of the Maisky Mine are highly stable and in total the Surface Mine employs 200 people. As for coal marketing, Sergei Pechyonkin, director of SUEK-Kuzbass Surface Mine Group, says: "Today, owing to the thought-out practices of the Company management we have a reliable marketing channel. The stability of the Mine team work is dependent on sales. Joined efforts tangibly help the Mine meet production targets."
