OREANDA-NEWS. December 31, 2010. On the eve of the New Year JSC PO „Electrochemical Factory“ (affiliate of the “TVEL” Fuel Company of Rosatom) at the manufacture of W-EXZ there has been put into trial operation a production division of hydrofluoric acid rectification.

JSC PO „Electrochemical Factory“ has launched a unique manufacture: there is no such unit of rectification of 70 % hydrofluoric acid rectification anywhere in Russia and in the world. As a result commodity output of the JSC PO „Electrochemical Factory“ received a new product — anhydrous hydrogen fluoride.

Shortly before there had been performed commissioning at the rectification unit, and there had been held complex tests on the model liquid. Then the trial operation was continued in the operating environment, and there was received the very first experimental batch of the product.

Now there is an adjustment at the manufacture of the technological modes in order to achieve full conformity of the product with its specifications.

W-EXZ rectification unit is a brainchild of exclusively Russian experts. The project has been developed by the Department of the Chief Designer of the JSC “Siberian Chemical Integrated Works“(affiliate of the “TVEL” Fuel Company of Rosatom). The working documentation was executed by the experts of various divisions of the JSC "PO „Electrochemical Factory“ Departments of the Chief Mechanic, Chief Instrument Man, Chief Powerman and Capital Projects Division. Organization of the building complex of the JSC "PO „Electrochemical Factory“, namely, SMU-95, MSU-20, and contractors — MSU-75, SHTM and SMNU-70/7 were engaged in the civil and erection works.

Certainly, there is an interest in anhydrous hydrogen fluoride. Potential consumers of this product may be the enterprises which are both affiliates of the “TVEL” Fuel Company of Rosatom and other business.
