OREANDA-NEWS. December 31, 2010. The award ceremony of one of the most authoritative Russian business awards – the annual national Company of the Year Award - was held at the Column Hall of the House of Unions in Moscow. Sukhoi was honored with the Company of The Year award as the best company of the year 2010 in the category Military-Industrial Complex of Russia.

The award organizers noted the company’s achievements in the sphere of combat and civil aircraft production. In particular, in the year 2010 the flight tests of the 5-th generation fighter jet (PAK FA) have started. The serial production of new multifunctional super-maneuverable Su-35S fighters was launched. New Su-34 frontline fighter-bombers, Su-27SM and Su-30M2 multi-role fighters as well as modernized Su-33 carrier-based fighter aircraft enter service with the Russian Air Force.

New contracts with foreign customers were signed for Su – type combat aircraft. All the existing export contracts were fulfilled.

The Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft (FGFA) program jointly developed by Russia and India has been actively going on.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional jet program is successfully progressing. The serial production of the new planes is going on. The order volume has reached 155 aircraft.

The award organizers have already honored Sukhoi’s achievements in 2002 and 2004 with their Company of The Year awards in the category Military-Industrial Complex of Russia.

The national business Company of the Year Award commenced in 1999. Since 2002 the award program operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, in the year 2004 it got the international status. The award program is run by the RBC Group of Companies.
