Transstroy Signs New Contract with SIBUR
OREANDA-NEWS. December 31, 2010. Transstroy has signed a contract with SIBUR-Portenergo, for the construction of the second stage of the LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) and light-oil product transshipment complex at the Ust-Luga harbor.
The construction project of the complex consists of three stages. Transstroy is already conducting the first stage of construction, building had commenced in June 2010.
The first phase of the second stage is to be finished in December 2011.
The project will be handled by SIBUR and is to handle the important issue of utilization of associated petroleum gas and the export - through the sea terminal - of surplus product from it's refining. The area of industrial-grade construction constitutes
In the interest of meeting these objectives the general contractor is conducting round-the-clock construction.
Under the terms of the first agreement the head contractor - Region-Transstroy, part of the Transstroy holding company located in the north-west region - has finished the preparation of the site one month ahead of schedule. The engineering tasks included pit reclamation for the complex territory, excavation and filling, the dumping of 2.7 million cubic meters of sand, installation of drainage canals. Sand was filled at an average speed of 30 thousand cubic meters per day. Around 120 dump trucks, 40 excavators, more than 30 compactors and bulldozers were in operation on the site. Inner yard and access roads for the construction site were built. And a railway line and access dam for the hydroelectric structure zone are currently under construction.
The second stage of construction consists of the erection of storage fields with a system of pipelines and engineering utilities, railway infrastructure and a tank car loading depot, as well as the repair shop and administrative building. Region-Transstroy has already commenced work on this stage of the project.
