OREANDA-NEWS. December 30, 2010. Mr. Rovnag Abdullayev, SOCAR President received the delegation led by Mr. Mehmet Uysal, President of Turkish TPAO (Turkish Petroleum Corporation). Welcoming the guests, Mr. Abdullayev spoke about time-proof cooperation between SOCAR and TPAO within the development of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli, Shahdeniz, and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan projects, adding that those projects successfully continue now. In turn, Mr. Uysal expressed his gratitude for cooperation with SOCAR and congratulated the Company management on occasion of discovery of “Umid” natural gas field by highly estimating the contribution of SOCAR staff in that find.

Mentioning TPAO’s operations in many countries, the guest briefed his Azeri colleague on foreign projects of the Company. According to him, TPAO has gained the confidence of Turkish community and expands his activities as an integrated company. As he mentioned, the Turkish company closely monitors the projects of SOCAR in Azerbaijan and Turkey as well as shows great interest to them.

Mr. Abdullayev informed about the recent achievements of the country on oil and gas, oil refining, and petrochemistry and contributions of SOCAR in this regard. SOCAR President informed Uysal on planned works in Azerbaijan and the Company’s ongoing investment projects in Georgia, Turkey, Ukraine and other countries. Heads of the two companies also discussed prospects for expanding cooperation and congratulated each other on upcoming New Year.
