OREANDA-NEWS. December 30, 2010. In Italy the multipurpose container vessel Rossita was launched. The vessel is intended to ship spent nuclear fuel and materials of decommissioned nuclear submarines from Russia Navy's former bases in North-West Russia.

The vessel is built by Fincantieri under the agreement between the governments of Russia and Italy of 2003 concerning the cooperation in decommissioning of Russian nuclear submarines and reprocessing of radioactive waste and SNF. The contract to design and build the container vessel was signed in July 2008.
