OREANDA-NEWS. December 30, 2010. Moldovan enterprises carrying out customs and international logistic transactions shall initially submit import declarations to the EU customs authorities. This is in line with the new EU regulations on the security of commercial transactions which enter into force on 1 January 2011.

The Economics Ministry s public relations department said that this measure is meant to increase the safety of international trade, to provide the EU authorities with better risk analysis on the basis of the information gathered before the import/export of goods at/via the EU borders.

Import declarations can be submitted online to the European customs authorities before importing/exporting goods in/from the EU Community.

The declarations will contain different data, depending on the transportation, and will refer to: the description of goods (denomination, quantity, weight, units, etc.), exporter, addressee, transporter, itinerary and other details.

The deadline for submitting the declarations vary from 24 hours to one hour depending on the transport means used.
