OREANDA-NEWS. December 29, 2010. The National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan has made a decision to expand the spectrum of research works aimed to adjust and normalize quality of irrigation water on the basis of environmental aspects.

The Academy says that for these purposes it is necessary to pay more attention to factors affecting the formation of irrigation water quality, in particular, general mineral content, ratio of ions and other chemical characteristics.

Currently irrigation water quality is assessed in three directions. It was created a system of normalization of water quality, which shows the impact of water quality on the ground and plants, assessment of irrigation water quality in accordance with scientific and methodological principles and criteria.
