OREANDA-NEWS. December 29, 2010. CenterTelecom OJSC reports that Vyacheslav Smith, Vice President, Director of Central Branch, Rostelecom OJSC, has been appointed Deputy General Director, CenterTelecom. At the same time Mr. Smith will retain his post in Rostelecom.

Being CenterTelecom's Deputy General Director, Mr. Smith is to be responsible for efficient interactions of Rostelecom and CenterTelecom in the course of formation of the integrated company on basis of Rostelecom. In Russia's Central Federal District he'll be also coordinating an accomplishment of tasks connected to the merger of Svyazinvest's inter-regional telecommunications companies with Rostelecom.

Vyacheslav Smith's biography:

Vyacheslav Smith was born on December 15, 1954. In 1978 he graduated from Moscow Engineering Physics Institute with a specialty in applied physics. Prior to joining Rostelecom Mr. Smith worked for a number of companies including the Institute of Automated Systems, TeliaSonera International Carrier Russia CJSC, Telecominvest OJSC and Sinterra CJSC. In 2007 he joined MMT, a Rostelecom subsidiary, as a first deputy director of its branch. In July 2007 Mr. Smith was appointed MMT branch's deputy general director. In July 2009 he took up an appointment as Deputy General Director, Director of Central branch, Rostelecom. In August 2010 he was appointed a Vice President, Director of Central Branch, Rostelecom.
