OREANDA-NEWS. December 29, 2010. Branch of JSC FGC UES – MES East – completed first stage of process connection of the facilities of FSUE "Administration of Civil Airports (Aerodromes)" to "Aeroport" 220 kV substation in the Primorie Territory. This stage included connection of two 10 kV cable power transmission lines from the user to 10 kV indoor switchgear of "Aeroport" 220 kV substation. Total connected capacity amounted to 946 kW. The performed works provided for power supply of new light signaling equipment of the landing strip of the currently reconstructed Knevichi airport in Vladivostok.

To organize power supply of the landing facilities and the radio technical equipment of the airport two more 10 kV cable lines shall be connected to indoor switchboard 10 kV cells of "Aeroport" substation. This shall provide the user with additional electric capacity of 1.5 MW. This stage is planned to be completed by late August 2011.

Modernization of Knevichi airport is included in the list of priority measures for preparation of the summit of Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), which shall take place in Vladivostok in 2012. This program provides for extension of the landing strip, construction of a new passenger terminal to service international airlines, replacement of light signaling equipment, reconstruction of the airport power supply system. According to preliminary estimates operation of the renovated airport shall require ca. 17 MW additional capacity, which shall be supplied by "Aeroport"  220 kV substation, which is also responsible for supplying the new residential complex in the town of Artem in the Primorie Territory.

"Aeroport" 220 kV substation 50 MVA transformer capacity was built as part of Federal Target Program "Development of Vladivostok as center of international cooperation in Asian-Pacific region" and the investment program of JSC FGC UES. The facility was put into operation in June 2010. During the coming year process connection to "Aeroport" 220 kV substation of the users who have duly executed their applications shall be performed, including FSUE "Administration of civil airports (aerodromes)", "Aeronavigation of the Far East", CJSC "Alliance-prom", CJSC "Terminal Vladivostok", LLC "RN-Aero", Administration of Artem township, JSC "Russian Railways".
