Lithuanian Railways Rejected Offer by ORLEN Lietuva
OREANDA-NEWS. December 23, 2010. Management board of state owned Lithuanian Railways company had rejected the proposal made by ORLEN Lietuva to withdraw the claim for breaching of the ontract. Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration has admitted 12 million litas damages to Orlen Lietuva.
The arbitrage awards confirmed that LG has failed to comply with the agreement, which is the fundamental business standard practice.
This resulted that Lithuanian Railway's board decisions and business policy by violating existing agreements was detrimental for the company and its shareholders.
This is the second time that the arbitration founds guilty.
In November ORLEN Lietuva sent two letters to the Lithuanian Railways offering to withdraw claim to the Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration in change of reviewing transportation rates. However ORLEN Lietuva offer was not answered.
Compliance with contract terms for ORLEN Lietuva is the key business principle, which the company expects all of its partners.
