Estonians Set up Real Estate Portal
OREANDA-NEWS. December 23, 2010. Estonian businessmen have established a real estate portal called maimaikuai.com on the Chinese market that is looking for investors to become the largest nationwide portal, the Postimees daily says.
According to last week's data the portal carried 450,000 ads and its database embraced 6,000 brokers. "Maimai kuai" is Chinese for "purchase-sale quickly."
"Initially we'd like to get together two million ads from the capitals of the 22 Chinese provinces. It's especially important for the ads to be from as many cities throughout China as possible," Urmas Koiv, one of the initiators of the website, told the paper. In his words, the usual practice in China is for a real estate portal to focus on one concrete area or one real estate company.
The portal is being developed by Estonians who also are its core investors. The marketing communication and website translations are done by the Chinese.
Koiv said the first marketing campaigns need an investment of 500,000-700,000 euros. The company is at present actively looking for an international investor. Maimaikuai plans to advertise in addition to China in Europe and America to attract international visitors.
