Share of Adverse Credits in Moldovan Banking Sector Reduces
OREANDA-NEWS. December 23, 2010. As of December 31, 2009, the share of adverse credits in the banking system was 16.38%, according to data of the National Bank of Moldova. Compared to the indicators of January-November 2009 (16.62%), it went down for 11 months of this year by 1.82 p.p.
The share of adverse credits in the total normative capital as of the end of November this year was 53.45%, down 3.1 p.p. from the beginning of the year (56.07% at the end of December 2009). Compared to the indicators of January-November 2009, it reduced by 2. p.p. At the same time, adverse assets for 11 months of 2010 constituted 8.62% of total assets (-0.21 p.p. against December 2009) and 53.57% - of the total normative capital (-3.27 p.p.).
In comparison with indicators of January-November 2009 (52.67%) they went down by 2.14 p.p. The share of overdue and interest free credits in January-November this year constituted 14.89% of the total credits (-2.77 p.p. against December 2009) and 53.29% of the total normative capital (-7.16 p.p.).
The share of industrial and commercial credits as of the end of November 2010 made up 50.51% (-1.1 p.p. since the beginning of the year), that of agricultural credits and food industry credits – 15.4% (-0.48 p.p.), credits for real estate, building and development – 12.68% (+0.14 p.p.), consumer credits – 8.41% (-0.33 p.p.), fuel and energy credits – 3.69% (+0.39 p.p.).
