OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2010. Rusnano State Corporation approved the project of A.A. Bochvar Scientific Research Institute for Inorganic Materials OJSC (A.A. Bochvar VNIINM, included in TVEL, Rosatom’s Fuel Company) entitled Manufacture of High-Strength Nanostructure Electrical Wires.

This project is unique, since it has no analogues either in Russia or abroad. This development allows producing high-strength, large cross-section wires of 100 to 200 m long with homogeneous properties. The project’s objective is to establish a unique manufacture of high-strength materials at VNIINM facilities. Such products will be used in power industry, aviation, astronautics, machine building, etc.

This project is expected to be implemented by a joint venture of Rusnano and VNIINM at VNIINM facilities. The joint venture’s capacity will amount to 50 tons of conductors per year.
