OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2010. As Estonia is about to join the euro area on 1 January 2011 and to introduce the euro (EUR) replacing national Estonian currency kroon (EEK), we would like to inform You that DnB NORD customer accounts in Estonian kroon (EEK) will be closed (no later than 10 January 2011). Estonian kroon (EEK) in these accounts will be converted into euro (EUR) using the official exchange rate set by the Bank of Estonia (1 EUR = 15.6466 EEK). The account in euro (EUR) will be automatically opened for the customers who do not hold such accounts (account number will remain unchanged), reported the press-centre of DnB NORD.

Terms for executing transactions in the Estonian kroon (EEK) at DnB NORD Bankas:

Cash transactions in Estonian kroon (EEK) will be executed at DnB NORD branches until 31 December 2010 during business hours of the branches;

Payment orders in Estonian kroon (EEK) for payments inside DnB NORD Bankas will be accepted and executed at DnB NORD branches until 31 December 2010 during business hours of the branches;

Payment orders in Estonian kroon (EEK) for payments inside DnB NORD Bankas through DnB NORD e-banking system (INTERNETO LINIJA) will be accepted and executed until the closure of Estonian kroon (EEK) accounts (no later than 10 January 2011);

Payment orders in Estonian kroon (EEK) to other banks registered in Lithuania and to foreign banks will be accepted at DnB NORD branches until 28 December 2010 during business hours of the branches (payment orders submitted after this date will not be executed and funds will be returned to the payer’s account);

Payment orders in Estonian kroon (EEK) to other banks registered in Lithuania and to foreign banks will be accepted through DnB NORD e-banking (INTERNETO LINIJA) until 28 December 2010, 22.00 (payment orders submitted after this date will not be executed and funds will be returned to the payer’s account).
