Ukraine to Put into Operation Large Infrastructure Facilities
OREANDA-NEWS. December 17, 2010. By the end of the year large infrastructure projects will be put into operation in each region. This was informed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov at a briefing after the opening of three new stations of Kiev Subway.
"In each region, I emphasize, in every region later this year we will put into operation large serious object. There is no single region where this wouldn’t be done. That would be a large hospital, or a ring road, or a bridge, or a school, etc." - Mykola Azarov said.
In addition, the PM stressed that the bridge over the river in Zaporozhzhya is to be put in operation in 2012. "In Zaporizhzhya, I think that the lion's work on building the bridge will be done, and we would put it into operation, if not in 2011, then in 2012 obligatory" - the Prime Minister said. He added that the draft state budget for 2011 previews huge funds for construction of the subway in Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv.
Mykola Azarov noted that the Government pays much attention to the reconstruction of the country, but the capital has to be given special attention. "We look at the entire country. However, the capital we have is to be European capital. In 2012 we will not only receive all of Europe, but the entire world" - the Prime Minister concluded. He said that within five years the Government would transform Kyiv in modern European capital. "Covering five years we will transorm Kyiv in a modern European capital. Definitely! "- the Prime Minister is convinced. He said that in five years Kiev would have new metro stations, transport interchanges, and parking, sewer system and city housing will be repaired.
