OREANDA-NEWS. December 16, 2010. The most deserved business representatives of Kaunas region have been announced by Kaunas Palace of Trade, Industry and Crafts. Ukio bankas was evaluated by the award “For significant contribution to community”, reported the press-centre of Ukio bankas.

Kaunas Palace of Trade, Industry and Crafts evaluated Ukio bankas for activity of the year 2010 that contributed to creation of Kaunas culture, business and all community’s welfare. The Bank executed and supported over 40 social projects in 2010.

Ukio bankas was established in Kaunas and all 21 year the head office of the bank has operated here.

“Kaunas people are important to us, thus we actively support institutions of Kaunas culture, sports, public events, universities and other important projects. Such symbols of Kaunas as Zalgiris, Pazaislis Music Festival, Kaunas Drama Theatre receive long-term support of Ukio bankas. Great attention is paid to Kaunas business nurturance – we appreciate ideas of our city’s businessmen, help with their implementation and overcoming economic obstacles,”– said chairman of Ukio bankas Board Gintaras Ugianskis.

He expressed belief that it helps Kaunas to cherish harmonious, bright and educated community. Ukio bankas has joined the World’s agreement on responsible business and has undertaken to implement principles of socially responsible business.
