OREANDA-NEWS. December 16, 2010. The Moldovan Government took a decision on concession of the future multi-level parking lot that will be built in the International Airport of Chisinau. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Valerii Lazar said the multilevel 700-places parking lot would be constructed in the framework of the state-private partnership and would be the first modern multilevel parking lot in the country.

A private investor for its constructuin will be selected at the international tender planned to be announced within a month or two. The parking lot is planned to be constructed for not more than two years. It will be provided for concession for 20 years. The parking fees will be fixed by a private company that will build the object. It will transfer 2% of its incomes to the International Airport of Cisinau.

The money will be used by the Airport’s administration to improve the quality of services rendered to passengers. Construction of the multilevel parking is stipulated by the International Airport of Chisinau Development Plan. The Airport currently has a 150-place parking lot situated on the area of 1 hectare.

An hour of parking there costs 6 leis, the parking lot is administered by the Association of veterans and invalids of the carabineer trops. Director General of the Chisinau International Airport Roman Podcoritov said earlier that construction of the future multilevel parking lot in the Airport was valued at at least 4 million euros. Four companies from Portugal, Italy and Romania have already demonstrated their interest in participation in the tender.
