OREANDA-NEWS. December 15, 2010. Tomsk hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Vasily Yurchenko, Governor of the Novosibirsk Oblast.

The meeting addressed the development prospects for the regional gas industry. Particular attention was paid to Gazprom’s potential acquisition of nine gas distribution stations (GDS) constructed at the expense of the regional budget. It was noted that the Company was ready to buy these stations once the Oblast Government provided all the required documents.

The parties discussed the expediency of retrofitting GDS-5 in Novosibirsk and the GDS in Barabinsk.
Background

Gazprom and the Novosibirsk Oblast Administration signed a Cooperation Agreement and a Gasification Accord in June 2005.

The gas penetration level in the Novosibirsk Oblast equals 3.7 per cent including 4.3 per cent in cities and towns and 1.4 per cent in the rural area. The identical figures throughout Russia average 63.2, 67.5 and 45.5 per cent respectively.

From 2005 to 2009 Gazprom invested RUB 1.59 billion in the Novosibirsk Oblast gasification. RUB 150 million was allocated for this purpose in 2010.

The Novosibirsk Oblast Government sticks to its obligations on consumer preparation to receive gas. In particular, the Government arranged construction of 8 kilometer long street-level networks, commissioning of a gas-fired boiler house and gasification of 150 households in 2010.
