EU Develops Travel Routs in Trans-Border Zone of Nisporeni-Prut
OREANDA-NEWS. December 15, 2010. The European Commission has provided about 220 thousand euros for implementation of the project of development of the travel routs in the trans-border zone of Nisporeni-Prut in 2008-2010. The project manager, head of the Tourism Development Association Viorel Miron said the project had been implemented since August 2008 and was aimed at development of the tourism infrastructure of the Nisporeni region, intensification of the trans-border cooperation between bordering regions’ residents and development of the cultural-historical monuments of the Nisporeni region.
According to him, the project assisted construction of infrastructure and development of one of the oldest cloisters of Moldova “The Nativity of the Virgin Mary” in the village of Varzareni and creation of the “Nisporeni-Native Region” museum, supported the national art museum in the villag4e of Iurceni, organized tourism trainings for businessmen and others.
The project is being realized by the Nisporeni regional council in partnership with the APT and is funded by the European Union. The total budget of the project for 2008-2010 – 298 thousand euros, 12% of which are allocated by the Nisporeni region’s authorities.
The total value of the project of development of tourism of the Nisporeni region for 2009-2013 is 1.68 million leis.
