OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2010. Initiated and organised by SCM, FormulaS has summed up results of its second season: one regional university has joined Kiev-based participants and the total number of master class attendees has exceeded 1,000 this season.

The education project FormulaS finished its second season on 2 December 2010. The project includes a series of open master classes given by SCM top managers and invited experts to the Ukrainian students. This season SCM has offered five master classes.

In particular, SCM Director of Media Business Development Yekaterina Lapshina, SCM Director of Mining and Metals Business Development Amir Aisautov, DTEK Business Development Director Guerman Ainbinder and invited speaker Irina Khakamada delivered lectures to the students for the first time ever. Jock Mendoza-Wilson, SCM Director of International and Investor Relations, who had already shared his experience with the students during the first season, gave a master class to the students of Mariupol State University of Humanities, which has joined the project this year.

"We are happy we could put our idea into action: to give a master class in a regional university. I would like to note that in Mariupol Jock Mendoza-Wilson saw a full house," said Natalia Yemchenko, SCM Director of Public Relations and Communications. "I think the fact that our project is needed and useful is well proven by a number of students who come to listen to our senior managers and invited speakers. This season our master classes have been attended by over 1,000 people (vs. 580 last season), with about a quarter of students not missing a lecture during the season. This interest urges our decision to continue the project next year."

"Many students ask us whether we will go on with the project. Our decision is: Yes, we will. Next year everybody will have a chance to attend another series of our master classes. Furthermore, the master class in Mariupol has shown that FormulaS is very interesting for the students of regional universities, which do not happen to see such events very often. For this reason we will seek for cooperation with some other universities outside Kiev," said Natalia Gnilitskaya, SCM Project Manager.
