OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2010. VI International Economic Forum has been organized in Donetsk by the Donetsk Chamber of Commerce to establish a dialogue between Donetsk and international businesses, which could develop into productive partnership. System Capital Management became a speaker at the event.

Discover Donbass VI Annual Forum took place in Donetsk with the support and participation of Donetsk Oblast State Administration, Donetsk Oblast Council and Donetsk City Council. Titled as Raising Competitiveness: Lessons of the Crisis the forum set the agenda with bilateral talks between Ukrainian and international businesses, presentations of investment projects, sessions and discussions with international experts, exhibitions of education programmes, tours to enterprises, trips and networking opportunities. Over 200 delegates from the European Union, the CIS, Asia, Africa and Latin America attended the event.

SCM's Director of International and Investor Relations Jock Mendoza-Wilson, spoke at the Forum about the importance of the European integration for Donbass and the steps taken by SCM towards this objective. In addition, the session Innovations in Education – Vector of Success presented DTEK's Corporate University as an instrument developed by the company to build the capacity of its employees. The informal part took place in Donbass Palace and at Donbass Arena, which also co-sponsored the forum.

Discover Donbass is undoubtedly a very important event for our region. First, the forum allows to show the true Donbass to foreigners, dispel the myths about the region and declare again the commitment of Ukraine to being a part of Europe. Second, this is a good platform for a dialogue between Donetsk and international businesses, which can help the region to raise investments, said Jock Mendoza-Wilson.
