OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2010. The present-day level of penetration of broadband internet access (BIA) services does not exceed 30%, Russian minister of communications, Igor Shyogolev said December 13. By 2010, the figure should increase 2-2.7x, and 3-3.16x by 2010, the minister says.

The estimate allows for the development of both wired and wireless BIA infrastructure, the Communications Ministry press-service reported. Global broadband internet coverage is to be ensured with the help of 4G LTE mobile networks, to be deployed across Russia over the coming 10 years.
