OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2010. Vladimir Strzhalkovsky, Chairman of the Management Board of OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel (hereinafter – MMC Norilsk Nickel or the Company) met with Martin Ferguson, Australian Minister for Resources and Energy, reported the press-centre of Norilsk Nickel.

The meeting was a part of Mr. Strzhalkovsky’s business trip to Australia dedicated to the review of possibilities for re-launching the Company’s Australian assets previously put on care and maintenance.

During the meeting, Martin Ferguson voiced out his support of MMC Norilsk Nickel’s decision to launch the Australian assets and noted the keen interest of the Australian government in their further development. Vladimir Strzhalkovsky underlined that the decision to launch the Company’s assets in Australia was made with due consideration of the resolution by the Australian government on the preservation of taxation base for non-ferrous metal producers.
