OREANDA-NEWS. December 9, 2010. United Metallurgical Company has served as the General Partner for the Battle of Champions Marshal Arts Forum, which will take place at the smaller sport arena of Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium today. The forum participants will include twenty-two professionals competing in different styles, yet in accordance with the universal ring fighting rules. The arena will see a total of 18 types of martial arts, including combat sambo, kickboxing, wu-shu, capoeira, etc. Title battles for the World Champion title will be held at the close of the competition. World and Europe champions for different marshal arts will participate in the tournament.

"OMK's participation as the General Partner for the Battle of Champions is not accidental," said OMK PR Director Aleksandr Kastravets. "Our company places special emphasis on promoting sports and healthy lifestyles."

OMK organizes a great deal of sports events in its operational regions. In Vyksa, where Vyksa Steel Works (VSW) is based, OMK has held the All-Russian Sambo Tournaments dedicated to the founders of VSW, the Batashev brothers, for seven successive years.

In the city of Chusovoy, the company organizes the OMK Sprint skiing competitions, whose participants include not only Chusovoy residents and CMW employees, but also Olympic champions and winners of world ski race championships. In addition, OMK sponsors the supporting fund for student basketball and the Russian Union of Martial Arts.
