OREANDA-NEWS. December 09, 2010. EU member states have lent unanimous support to Estonia becoming one of the two locations of the new EU IT agency.

Minister of the Interior Marko Pomerants, who submitted the joint tender to the EU's justice and home affairs council along with French counterpart Brice Hortefeux on December 2, said achieving a political agreement was the most important step toward establishing the agency headquarters in Tallinn.

The servers and technical part of the operation would be located in Strasbourg.

The IT agency will have the unwieldy official title of Agency for the long term operational management of large-scale IT systems in the area of freedom, security and justice.
