OREANDA-NEWS. December 08, 2010. On invitation by the CEO of British-German-Dutch consortium URENCO Dr. Helmut Engelbrecht, the President of Rosatom Fuel Company (FC) "TVEL" Yuri Olenin and General Director of TENEX (JSC "Techsnabexport") Alexei Grigoriev accompanied by managers and specialists of several Rosatom enterprises visited on December 6-7, 2010 URENCO uranium enrichment facilities in Germany and the Netherlands. It followed a visit of a URENCO team in September 2010 to Electrochemical Plant in Zelenogorsk.

During the visit the parties exchanged views on a broad range of issues, including the prospects for development of global nuclear power, status and prospects for technological modernization of the world enrichment industry, environmental issues and improving safety performance at enrichment facilities.

Such interaction on safety, safeguards and environmental aspects of the nuclear fuel supply chain, helps to support the global renaissance and strengthen international attempts to promote best practice. The parties intend to continue their discussions on a regular basis.
