OREANDA-NEWS. December 08, 2010. JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines is the most popular carrier with foreign passengers flying to Russia, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

In October - November 2010 the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) carried out a survey for JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines among the foreigners coming to Russia. Passengers from Great Britain, Germany, France, India, China and Italy were questioned. The total of 1500 people were surveyed.

When flying to Russia 77.3% of passengers choose Aeroflot. Air France and Air China with 19.9% of passengers take the second place. Passengers from Italy (84.0%) and Great Britain (82.0%) are more likely to fly Aeroflot than people from other countries.

Flight safety and the fleet’s technical condition (90.7%), the pilots’ level of training (87.9%) and the carrier’s reputation (85.3%) are the most important criteria for choosing an airline for foreign passengers. Aeroflot got the top scores in all the above mentioned criteria; the respondents considered traveling with Aeroflot to be safe and rated it 81.2% out of 100%, highly appreciated the pilots’ level of training and the company’s reputation and rated it 80.2% and 76.1% out of 100% respectively.

Nearly two-thirds of the passengers questioned (65.7%) considered Aeroflot to be meeting international standards, 62.5% of passengers referred to the company’s fleet as modern and more than half of the respondents highly appreciated the quality of its on-board service.

The Chief Executive Officer of Aeroflot Airlines Company Vitali Saveliev commented on the results of the survey and highlighted that technical and production potential, the company working on its improvement and innovations, the choice of personnel all contribute to Aeroflot being the leading airline in the industry.
