OREANDA-NEWS. December 08, 2010. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov is convinced that Ukraine needs to create a single database of customs and tax services. He stated this during a meeting with the Head of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia Giorgi Tskhakaia.

"We strive to have created a single database of tax and customs services" - the Prime Minister said. He added that a common information base and the introduction of electronic reporting would prevent corruption in VAT and significantly speed up the review process of submitted tax and customs declarations.

Giorgi Tskhakaia informed the Prime Minister that the Ministry of Finance of Georgia Revenue Service and State Customs Service of Ukraine have signed an agreement on cooperation and information exchange.

In addition, the Prime Minister instructed to consider the possibility of increasing the legal terms for citizens of Georgia to stay in Ukraine. The relevant order Mykola Azarov gave on the request of the Georgian side, as Georgia has decided to prolong the stay of Ukrainian citizens on its territory to 365 days without re-registration. We have different categories of Georgian citizens who may stay in Ukraine without re-registration to 90 days and to 180.
