OREANDA-NEWS. December 08, 2010. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against the Department of General Education of the Tomsk region, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

FAS Russia suspects that the Department of General Education of the Tomsk region violated Clause 5 Part 1 Article 15 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”. The Department sent a letter to the Heads of the municipal bodies of the Department of Education, requesting them, to enter into agreements and contracts with “Microsoft Rus” Ltd.

Earlier the Department of General Education of the Tomsk region sent a letter to the Heads of the municipal bodies of the Department of Education, requesting that the municipal bodies must conclude the software licensing agreement with “Microsoft Rus” Ltd. at the special price for the PC installed in municipal educational establishments.

According to CNEWS, the provisional price for the basic software package of “Microsoft Rus” Ltd. will be around USD 8 per year provided the agreement is singed by all educational establishments in the Tomsk region. If the agreement is not signed, the company recommends its partners to increase the price of the base package to USD 45.

The case is scheduled for 23rd December 2010.
