RTS Announced Stock Market November Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. December 6, 2010. In November 2010 the RTS Index went up by 0.64% to 1,597.35 points as of November 30, 2010 against 1,587.14 points as of October 29, 2010. Most of the positive impact on the RTS Index dynamics was coming from the growing prices for ordinary shares of OJSC "MMC "NORILSK NICKEL"  (GMNKS) (up 8.54 points), OJSC "Polyus Gold"  (PLZLS) (up 3.77 points) followed by ordinary shares of OJSC Uralkali  (URKAS) (up 3.23 points).

The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, rose by 1.99% to reach 10,671.83 points (10,463.83 points as of October 29, 2010). The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 Index went up by 2.32% to reach 2,041.74 points (1,995.51 points as of October 29, 2010). Key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market showed a positive trend. The largest gain was demonstrated by the industrial sector, with the RTS Industrial Index growing by 8.84%. A significant increase was reported by the telecommunication and consumer sectors with the RTS Telecom Index gaining 7.57% and the RTS Consumer & Retail Index going up by 5.84%.

RTS Siberia Index gained 5.89%.

In November the US dollar appreciated by 2.05% against the Russian ruble to reach 31.31 rubles per US dollar (30.68 rubles as of October 29, 2010).

In November 2010 the securities trading volume on RTS equaled USD45.5 billion (1,409.1 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD10,064.6 million.

The top sellers of the month on the RTS Stock Market were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD6,252.9 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD1,519.6 million and JSC "LUKOIL" ordinary shares (LKOH) with a turnover of USD583.7 million. The share of the above securities in the turnover made up 61.14%, 14.86% and 5.71% respectively.

The top gainers of the month were ordinary shares of JSC  Nizhnekamskneftekhim  (NKNC) that experienced a growth of 52.94% to reach USD0.78, ordinary shares of Kazansky Helicopter Plant  (KHEL) that went up by 51.83% to reach USD3.15 and preferred shares of JSC  Nizhnekamskneftekhim  (NKNCP) that gained 42.86% to end up at USD0.4 per share.

The top losers of the month were ordinary shares of JSC "TGC-1" (TGKA) that lost 10.53% to reach USD0.00068, preferred shares of OJSC "Rostelecom" (RTKMP)  that went down by 10.00% to reach USD2.7 and Surgutneftegas (SNGSP) that decreased by 9.61% to USD0.461.
