OREANDA-NEWS. December 06, 2010. The Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan has reported of development of the country’s first industrial park in the city of Sumgait.

The Ministry informs that 16 plants targeted for manufacture of export machine-building products - cables, transformers, high voltage equipment, hydro-turbines, water pumps, electric engines and pipes will operate on the park territory.

"Currently six enterprises are operating on the industrial park area. Two other ones will be put into operation in the near future. Construction of eight other plants is underway,” he said.

The park enterprises’ staff numbers about 800 employees, and after the opening of all the plants their quantity will reach 2,500 people.
