OREANDA-NEWS. December 3, 2010. UTair Aviation continues to demonstrate steady growth in its operational performance. In the first 10 months of 2010 the airline has carried a total of 3,782,644 passengers, 31% more than for the same period in 2009, with the industry average for the same period at 26.8%. UTair fixed wing aircraft have logged 140,005 flight hours, 18.1% more than for January-October last year. Passenger occupancy on the carrier’s flights grew 6.3 points, totalling 78.2%.

UTair passenger turnover has grown 42% in comparison with the previous year and totalled 6,802,529.3 PKM. Growth in passenger turnover for the entire Russian air transport industry for the same period stands at 31.1%. Also for the first three quarters, UTair aircraft carried 9,797.4 tons of cargo, 25.6% more than in 2009 and passenger aircraft carried 2,874 tons of mail, 82.7% more than for the same period in 2009.

UTair rotary wing aircraft operations demonstrated stable growth in January – October 2010 as well. UTair helicopters have logged 79,804 flight hours, 23.1% more than for the same period in 2009. During the 10 months the airline's helicopters have carried 370,195 passengers, 27% more than for the same period last year. During the reporting period, the airline's helicopters have carried 60,056 tons of cargo, 23.5 % more than for the same period in 2009.

According to the UTair operational forecast for 2010, the carrier’s aircraft and helicopters will have logged a total of 300,000 flight hours by the end of the year. More than 100 fixed wing aircraft and 200 helicopters of various types and classes are involved in realizing airline operations. In 2010 the airline expects to serve more than 4.8 million passengers, 34% more than in 2009. UTair is developing helicopter operations in Russia and eleven foreign countries.
