OREANDA-NEWS. December 02, 2010.  MegaFon has reduced by 30-40% the cost of roaming calls on Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey, Estonia, Finland, and Turkmenistan.

The Company reports that the new tariffs of incoming and outgoing calls of Russia (rate of roaming calls on this country is quite high), as well as outgoing calls in the host country will be 0.8 manats (33 rubles) per minute. The cost of one SMS-message will be 0.3 manats (13 rubles). All rates take into VAT.

At the recent 43th Baku meeting of the Commission of the Regional Commonwealth of Communications it was decided to cut tariffs for roaming between the RCC participating countries.

In accordance with this decision, the Azerbaijani mobile operators also intend to reduce roaming tariffs on these countries earlier next year. Currently, operators conduct work on monitoring of rates of other countries and fixing of new tariffs.
