Cooperation Agreement for CIS Member-States Signed at FAS
OREANDA-NEWS. December 01, 2010. The Cooperation Agreement between the Interstate Council on Antimonopoly Policy and “Promoting Competition in the CIS Member-States” Non-Commercial Partnership signed at FAS Russia, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
At the 32nd meeting, members of the Interstate Council on Antimonopoly Policy (ICAP) authorized the ICAP Chairman, the Head of FAS Russia Igor Artemyev, to sign the Agreement. On behalf of “Promoting Competition”: Non-Commercial Partnership the Agreement was signed by the Partnership Board Chairman, a senior partner of “ALRUS” legal firm, Vassily Rudomino.
The subject of the Agreement is cooperation between the Parties on developing efficient government policy in the filed of protecting and advancing competition and effective practice of antimonopoly enforcement in the CIS.
The Agreement determines the main forms and areas of cooperation between the Parties.
Prior to signing the Agreement, the Parties held a meeting, where they discussed the plans for joint work of ICAP and the Partnership for the near future and the main areas of cooperation between the Partnership and the national antimonopoly authorities of the CIS member-states.
At the meeting participants emphasized their mutual interest in developing such co-operation, legitimate basis for which is laid by signing the Agreement. Such mechanism of cooperation is considered by the Parties as a universal method for providing feedback regarding competition policy and antimonopoly regulation between business and the power-holders in the CIS.
