OREANDA-NEWS. December 01, 2010. The Head of the Department for Control over Electric Power Industry of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Mr. Vitaly Korolyov, took part in the workshop on energy saving, increasing energy efficiency and developing energy complex in the Privolzhie Federal District. He gave a presentation “On Implementing No. 261-FZ Federal Law “On Energy Saving and Increasing Energy Efficiency” of 23rd November 2009”, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The workshop was chaired by Mr. Grigory Rapota, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Privolzhie Federal District, and attended by representatives of the regional authorities, the Ministry of Energy Industry of the Russian Federation, the Ministry for Regional Development of the Russian Federation, the “System Operator of the Unified Energy System” (“SO UES”) OJSC, the “Interregional Distribution Grid Company of Centre and Volga Region” OJSC and the top-executives of energy suppliers and companies specializing in energy efficiency.

“The workshop participants emphasized the need for wider coverage of the issues on energy efficiency and energy saving and formation of specialized coordination centres in the constituent territories of the Russian Federation. It s also necessary to better inform about enforcement of the law on energy efficiency and the role of the antimonopoly bodies in the enforcement processes”, said Vitaly Korolyov.
