RTS Released Stock Market Weekly Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. November 30, 2010. Over the week of November 22-26, 2010, the RTS Index went up by 0.09% to reach 1,602.48 points (1,600.98 points as of November 19, 2010). Most of the positive impact on the RTS Index dynamics was related to the growing prices for ordinary shares of Sberbank (SBERS) (plus 4.58 points) followed by ordinary shares of OJSC "MMC "NORILSK NICKEL (GMKNS) (plus 1.69 points) and JSC "RusHydro" (HYDRS) (plus 1.46 points).

The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, gained 0.83% to reach 10,675.09 points (10,587.58 points as of November 19, 2010). The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced an increase of 1.55% closing at 2,032.64 points (2,001.60 points as of November 19, 2010). Last week all the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a positive trend. The largest growth was reported by the telecom sector, with the RTS Telecom Index adding 3.13%. A significant increase was also shown by the consumer and industrial sectors, with the RTS Consumer & Retail Index and RTS Industrial Index going up by 2.77% and 2.10% respectively. The decline was reported only by the oil & gas sector, with the RTS Oil & Gas Index shedding 1.33%.

The regional index, RTS Siberia Index, added 3.21%.

Last week the US dollar appreciated by 0.26% against the ruble to reach 31.28 rubles per US dollar (31.20 rubles as of November 19, 2010).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week of November 22-26, 2010 equaled USD10.3 billion (319.4 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD2,554.00 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD1,556.7 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD382.4 million and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD155.7 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 60.10%, 14.77% and 6.01% respectively.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of URALSIB   (USBN) that went up by 12.77% to USD0.0053 followed by preferred shares of Samaraenergo (SAGOP) – by 11.71% to USD0.01374 and ordinary shares of WBD Foods (WBDF) – by 10.61% to reach USD73.0.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of OJSC "Kazanorgsintez" (KZOS) that fell 5.28% to reach USD0.23302 followed by ordinary shares of  ОАО "PROTEK"  (PRTK) that lost 2.88% to reach USD2.02 and ОАО "LUKOIL"  (LKOH) that lost 2.40% to reach USD54.5.
