OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2010. SOCAR Vice-president for Refining Mr. David Mammadov received the delegation led by Argentine Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Alberto Pedro at SOCAR Head Office. Mr. Mammadov spoke about the history of oil production in Azerbaijan. He gave information on the achievements and energy projects implemented. He noted that new oil strategy by Azerbaijani National Leader Heydar Aliyev founded the achievements in economic sphere of the country.

Besides, he pointed out the importance of the “Contract of the Century” signed in 1994, projects implemented on the basis of development of “Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli” and “Shahdaniz” fields. He provided information about his country’s companies specialized in pipeline operation and field development. Mr. Mammadov told of condition of oil and gas sector in the country and the course of implementation of Azerbaijan’s oil strategy.

Mr. Alberto Pedro gave information about oil and gas companies operating in Argentina and claimed about an interest of specialized Argentine companies to cooperate with SOCAR.
